Whenever you’re in Italy, there’s a temptation to avoid the high-priced tourist traps. These are the restaurants that have hosts who try to get you to eat with them. But the fact of the matter is, tourist traps are near all the places you probably have planned to visit. And when your feet are tired, it’s easy to find a place close by. Alla Speranza is no different. And if you’re in Siena, there are no excuses for not eating at one of the many restaurants on Piazza del Campo. It’s great people watching!

I ordered their maialina pizza which had pomodoro, salsiccia, salamino piccante, pancetta, and prosciutto cotto…basically, meat lovers. For 14 euro, it was a bit on the pricey side for pizza, but it was loaded with meat and hit all the spots.

Overall, there probably isn’t much that distinguishes any of the restaurants on Piazza del Campo except the view, so find one you like, grab a menu, and take a seat. You won’t regret it.
