Sisters Thai was originally recommended to me by a colleague. For this review, this was my fourth time in the last 4 months going to Sisters Thai. Though I love Thai food, I typically only go once or twice a year, and I always get the same thing: chicken panang. Panang is a coconut curry that I cannot get enough of.

Having had the chicken panang here before, which I recommend, I decided to get crispy wontons as an appetizer and Sister Fried Rice (SFR). The crispy wontons were fine. I didn’t find anything particularly notable about them but I wasn’t disappointed either. The SFR surprisingly made for a great meal. I was skeptical that a rice dish could be satisfying but SFR really checked the boxes for me. The SFR comes with generous helpings of chicken and shrimp but what really elevates this dish are the cashews which provide both a flavor element and, more importantly, a texture element that draws the diner in.

For dessert, I chose a blue monstrosity that was described as coconut (a flavor I love) and ice cream. When it arrived at my table, I was unsure how it ought to be eaten since it’s not obvious. Anyway, I ended up finishing it but wasn’t particularly sure I had tackled the dish properly. The flavor wasn’t particularly strong in the coconut department which was disappointing.

Overall, I love Sisters Thai. The menu is vast and the dishes are interesting. It also has a really cool modern feel that I think will appeal to diners young and old. I cannot wait to go back.
