It’s been a few years since I’ve had Korean barbeque so when a friend suggested we get a group together to try Kogiya, I got really excited. While Kogiya has an a la carte menu, the best way to experience Korean barbeque in my opinion is all you can eat.

Kogiya has two all you can eat options. One is $30 and the other is $35. Our group chose the $30 option because the more expensive option included intestines which no one really wanted to try.

If you’ve ever had all you can eat Korean barbeque, the idea is that you get to choose from a list of meats and veggies. They allow you to choose up to three at a time and it’s brought to your table uncooked. The restaurant provides some accompaniments and three sauces to try with your meat, a sesame oil, an orange sauce, and a garlic sauce.

With the $30 option, you can choose from spicy chicken, spicy sliced pork, soy garlic sliced pork, miso pork belly, spicy pork belly, pork belly, and sliced brisket. I honestly liked most of we got although the pork belly options were my favorite. The spicy chicken was probably my least favorite and, as it turns out, is the only one they cook for you.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Kogiya and plan to return. I didn’t really like the time limit for the table. If you’re going to limit the amount of time you can eat, you shouldn’t really call it all you can eat because I wasn’t ready to leave.
