Uncle C’s Chicken & Waffles

If you know me, you know I love fried chicken. In particular, I love chicken tenders. I also love sauces and tenders are the perfect vehicle for delivering sauce. As of this writing, I’ve been to Uncle C’s Chicken & Waffles (UCCW) twice. I was so excited to try UCCW because of their menu which features sandwiches, chicken and waffles, breakfast offerings, and even fried cod.

In my two visits, I have ordered the 3-piece chicken tenders and waffle, the 5-piece wings and waffle, and macaroni & cheese. I haven’t had a bad bite so far. One thing I love about UCCW that other chicken places should learn from is that they allow you to mix and match between wings, tenders, and dark meat. For my orders I stuck to wings OR tenders rather than mixing but I know a lot of people who would love to have the option to do so. The tenders are huge. Trust me, you’re not going to be disappointed in the serving size. I would not recommend the 5-piece tenders unless you’re there for dinner because you will be stuffed. The wings were juicy and crispy just how they should be. The waffles are also large, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and syrup is included in a packet. In my second visit, I also got their mac & cheese and was not disappointed. For $3.99, they give you a generous portion of gooey mac & cheese that is baked until golden brown on top. Do not miss it. You could even share it and still get a nice taste.

Overall, I recommend UCCW. They really nail soul food in the fast format. You can dine in, carry out, or drive thru. I can’t wait to go back for breakfast and their sandwiches look too good to pass up. And I’ll let you guys know about their dessert which includes peach cobbler and banana pudding!
